The growth of VOG in recent years is due above all to the successful offensives abroad. Here the group has expanded its area of activity and has become an international trading company. Using the main Austrian company as a role model, the focus is on the classic import business and the sale of products to the food trade.

The first distributor outside Austria was established in Bük, western Hungary, in 1990. There a modern warehouse, 14,000 m2 in size, was erected in the immediate vicinity of the factory producing animal fodder, which was sold to Nestlé. Like the main company in Linz, VOG Hungary Ungarn distributes food and non-food items and operates its own packaging plants for dried fruit and a bottling plant for chip fat.

The next step followed in 1994, in Strancice, to the south of Prague. Based on the model in Hungary, a warehouse covering around 8,400 m2 was built and a comparable organisation, VOG Czech Republic, was set up. Like the main company in Linz, VOG Czech Republic Tschechien distributes food and non-food items and operates its own packaging plants for dried fruit and a bottling plant for chip fat.

At the end of 1999 a company was purchased in Skierniewice, 70 km to the southwest of Warsaw, which had its own warehouse and an existing distribution organisation. Thereafter it was converted based on the models of Hungary and the Czech Republic to form VOG Poland. In 2009 the warehouse was modernised, expanded to a warehouse area of 16,500 m2, and rail connections were added. Like the main company in Linz, VOG Poland distributes food and non-food items and operates its own packaging plants for dried fruit and a bottling plant for chip fat.

The final step for the time being was taken in 2001, when a distribution office was opened for Slovakia in Bratislava. Today it acts as a sales office for all Slovakian customers, who are then supplied directly or indirectly from the Czech VOG warehouse.

In 1996, one year after Austria’s entry into the EU, a sales office was established in Darmstadt to cover the European country with the greatest purchasing power. As the Austrian and German trading landscape is growing every closer, this step was of great strategic significance. VOG Germany distributes for the most part wines by Lenz Moser and RAPSO – 100 % Pure Rapeseed Oil, as well as food and non-food items.
